Pembroke Mews, London
Curtis Wood Architects have created at Pembroke Mews a contemporary and elegant home. The project was for Edwardes Estates, a residential developer working within the high-end rental market within fashionable Kensington.
The work undertaken throughout the property was extensive, refurbishing and modifying every space within the building and creating new and extended spaces. A top-lit winter garden area within the first floor living space was formed, which in turn created a glass balcony to one of the bedrooms above. The staircase and glass enclosure adjoining filled the building with light and formed a dynamic connection between all three floors.
A spatious kitchen and several new bathrooms - including a top lit bathroom on the second floor - completed the line up. The house has become one of the most desirable mews houses on it's kind. The house was completed in 2009 with main contractor Denis Kostenko.
