Forest View, Chingford
Completed in 2009, Curtis Wood Architects have created a spacious and elegant new home on the edge of Waltham Forest gold course for a private residential client and their family.
The existing building was largely demolished, with only the front facade being retained. The ground floor now accommodates a large family living, dining and kitchen space to the rear, with access to large patio spaces, and a small adult living room and ancillary spaces towards the front of the house.
A water feature is used as a device to pull the inside spaces outside, and blur the boundary between the inside and outside spaces.
The first floor accommodates three children’s bedrooms, two en suite bathrooms, a guest bedroom and one family bathroom. At loft level a generous and spacious master bedroom suite is created with dressing space and en suite shower room. The staircase zones are top-lit with flush glazed roof lights.
