Redpost Hill, Dulwich
Commissioned in 2003, Curtis Wood Architects were charged with creating a flexible new family room, utility space and boot-room, adjoining this 1970’s step-terrace home in the Dulwich Village Estate.
Planning permission and estate approval was achieved and this copper clad room complex constructed within a very tight budget. Materials and fittings were chosen carefully to achieve the best price, with the scheme simplified to minimise complexity and the number of trades involved.
The extension is now used in a number of ways. The large sliding glass doors provide an excellent link to the walled garden, making the space a perfect children’s play room. The space also serves as an additional guest bedroom when required, and finally the extension functions beautifully as a second living room and study for the adults of the house.
